Independent citizen project
This website is personally funded, written, maintained, and hosted.
I created this site on my own time and at my own expense. I am not paid by
a political party, campaign, municipality, government agency, advocacy
organization, or private sponsor to create, operate, or influence this website.
It is not an official government website.
Purpose of the site
Citizen information, not voting instructions
What the site explains
The site is intended to help residents understand how local government
works, where municipal revenue comes from, how different fund types are
used, how budgets are adopted, and how changes to property-tax policy
could affect municipalities.
What the site does not do
The site does not tell anyone how to vote and does not endorse or oppose
a candidate, political party, campaign, or ballot measure. Some pages may
discuss risks, uncertainties, or possible consequences because amendment
language, fiscal estimates, or implementation details may be incomplete
or ambiguous.
Sources and methodology
How information is gathered
Official budget documents
Municipal figures are drawn primarily from downloaded city budgets,
adopted budget books, financial reports, and other publicly available
government documents.
Homestead and parcel data
Homestead analysis may use NAL parcel data, property-appraiser records,
and GIS boundary information. Parcel totals may not align perfectly
because datasets can use different boundaries, classifications, or
update schedules.
Articles and online sources
Legislative material, news reporting, agency publications, and other
internet sources may be used for context. Source citations and links
are provided whenever practical so readers can review the material
themselves.
Accuracy and review
Reasonable care is taken, but errors are possible
I make a good-faith effort to present the information accurately and to
check figures against original source documents. Research and drafting
tools, including automated tools, may assist with extracting, organizing,
comparing, or summarizing information. Their output is reviewed manually
before publication.
Even with review, occasional errors, transcription issues, outdated figures,
classification differences, GIS mismatches, or other data oddities may remain.
When a problem is identified, I will make a reasonable effort to correct it.
Readers should consult the linked official documents before relying on a
figure for legal, financial, tax, or policy decisions.
i
Data can change.
Budgets, legislative proposals, ballot language, parcel records, fiscal
estimates, and municipal boundaries may be revised after a page is published.
